AREFU ASSOCIATION was established in memory of my family, my great-grandparents and my grandparents, people of culture and art who left their impress in the Romanian culture.
The purpose of the Arefu Association is to organize cultural activities, musical auditions, painting exhibitions, book releases, cultural tourism and the restoration of the Arefu Manor, which is also the Memorial House of my great-grandfather, the Founder of the Romanian Opera GEORGE STEPHANESCU and at the same time getting to know this wonderful place where important people perished such as: Vasile Alecsandri, Constantin Nottara and his students, I.L.Caragiale, B.P.Hajdeu, Barbu Delavrancea, Anton Bacalbasa, Aneta Polizu, Aristita Romanescu, Adelina Patti etc … and at the same time, those who are interested and want to know more about the history and culture of ROMANIA.
